More of the soon to be published novel (hopefully)
It all started, innocently enough, in 1988…
Two young men have come of age and have their lives ahead of them.
One is a DJ with a zest and taste for finer things in life and on the path to the fame and fortune he so desperately craves.
One is quiet and reserve who once had a taste of fame and now who wants nothing more than a peaceful, tranquil, and uncomplicated life.
Love, betrayal and dark secrets of the past, that were thought long forgotten, have turned the two, once good friends, into rivals… and then into bitter enemies.
The two men now walk the fine line between reason and madness… good and evil… salvation and oblivion.
Which way will they fall?
A psychological thriller/mystery with a splash of horror and the supernatural.
Due to the length of this chapter, I’m going to break this up into pieces.
In this chapter, we meet "The Three Guys" particuliarly Sam... who, like his friends, has some issues...
WARNING: This text contains sexual references and inuendo. Not recommended for young readers. Don’t read if these issues offend you.

Let me know if this is worthwhile...
I hope it’s not a waste of time...
Here is the acknowledgement, foreward and prologue...
In this part, we learn a little of the inner workings of the mind of the title character

Just a story that popped into my head after watching one of my favorite episodes of “The Andy Griffith Show.”
Although Mr. McBeevee only made one appearance on the show, it left a lasting impression on me. I guess I was a sucker for the kick-ass McBeevee intro music.
It was a simple test of faith between father and son. Opie bravely sticks by his new friend by refusing to acknowledge that he’s only make-believe, even at the risk of being severely punished. In the end, Andy faith in his son pays off. Who could ever forget the line, “I don’t believe in Mr. McBeevee, but I do believe in Opie.”
I thought it would be cool to write a story based on the McBeevee character and add a little more to his mystique.

For Rahul. Don’t forget to read part IV.
There’s and old saying: “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.” And that’s exactly what a young college journalism student gets. In pursuit of the “big story” to gain future fame and fortune, he gets more than he bargained for.
In Part V…
The final confrontation between Stick and the evil being. Stick also learns of its dark, sinister plans… plans that Stick will play a role in. Will Stick prevail and put an end to the plot? Or will he become part of that horrible plot? Or will he be the evil beings next victim?
Originally written in 1985, I revised this story but found it easier to have it take place in the past rather than modernize it for various reasons as you read on. I also felt nostalgic.

Part III of V
There’s and old saying: “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.” And that’s exactly what a young college journalism student gets. In pursuit of the “big story” to gain future fame and fortune, he gets more than he bargained for.
In Part III…
Barely escaping the evil being, Stick now realizes that he’s in over his head, but can’t turn anywhere for help. Now the evil has turned its attention to him. Just when things look bleak, Stick finds an ally.
Originally written in 1985, I revised this story but found it easier to have it take place in the past rather than modernize it for various reasons as you read on. I also felt nostalgic.

A little something to the company I left in order to pursue my locksmithing career full time.
This is dedicated to Ms. Ava Synder whose courageous poems helped inspire my final decision.
And also to Nicole, my domestic partner, for supporting my decision.

A Private-Fisrt Class on his rookie combat mission learns a valuable lesson from an inexperienced Second Lieutenant.
Just a little something I wrote on a whim.
This story is loosely based and inspired by the concept of Robert Heinlein’s “Starship Troopers”. Okay, I didn’t actually read the book, but I did see the movie and own the Avalon Hill Bookcase Game version.

Another feeble attempt at poetry. This one inspired when “The Carol Burnett Show” won the TVLAND LEGEND award. Don’t worry, Miss Synder. I haven’t compromised. More short stories to come. Just had to get this out of my system.

The Little Boy and the Curse of the Chicago Cubs 2 Scot Savage, 1999 Humor and Satire, 4133 words | Read online... Comments... (2) |
A look at how an innocent boy runs afoul of the pitfalls of being a Cubs fan. Originally written for a publication doing an anthology about baseball, but was passed over because they only wanted poems and not short stories. Of course, they never stated this in the advertisement that they only wanted poems. Holy miscommunication, Batman!
This is a revision of the previous work with some corrections. This is not a sequel to the original. Sorry!
